This privacy notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit our website or contact us.

2. Hosting and server logs
Our website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. STRATO processes data on our behalf in data centres in Germany.
When you access the website, technically necessary connection data is processed. This includes, in particular, your IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the volume of data transferred, the status code, the referring page (referrer), and browser and operating system information. This processing enables us to deliver the website, analyse errors and protect against attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of our website.
STRATO stores IP addresses for a maximum of seven days to detect and prevent attacks. Access logs containing IP addresses or hostnames anonymised according to STRATO are available to us for six weeks.
3. Contact by email, telephone or post
If you contact us, we process the contact details and information you provide in order to handle your enquiry. We use STRATO as our email hosting provider. Within our company, access is limited to those who need to handle your enquiry.
For enquiries concerning a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. In other cases, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is handling your enquiry appropriately.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry. It is then deleted unless statutory retention obligations or the necessary establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require otherwise. Where statutory retention obligations apply, continued storage is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR; access is restricted to what is necessary for those purposes.
4. Job applications
If you apply for a job with us, we process your contact details, application documents and information provided during the recruitment process to decide whether to establish an employment relationship. The legal basis is section 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Access is granted to those responsible for recruitment; our email service provider is also involved if you apply by email.
The retention period depends on the duration of the recruitment process and any subsequent retention necessary for the defence of legal claims. Longer inclusion in a talent pool requires separate consent. If you are hired, necessary data is further processed for the employment relationship. We will inform you during the recruitment process of the specific deletion period and further details.
5. Cookie settings and consent
The necessary cookie “kuzu_consent” stores your privacy choices and consent status, including the time of your decision, for 180 days. The legal bases are section 25(2), no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is reliably respecting your decision.
Optional statistics are activated only with your consent. Where information is stored on or accessed from your device, this is based on section 25(1) TDDDG. Processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You can change your choices and withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future using “Cookie settings” in the footer or the button on this page. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. You can use the website without consenting to statistics.
6. Website analytics with Burst Statistics
With your consent, we use Burst Statistics to analyse website use and improve our content. Data is stored with our hosting provider STRATO and is not transmitted to the developer of Burst. The consent bases explained in section 5 apply.
We record pages viewed, the time of access, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country of origin, time spent on pages and scrolling behaviour. With your consent, a cookie containing a randomly generated visitor identifier is set. This allows us to recognise the same browser on subsequent visits. The cookie lasts for 30 days. The identifier is pseudonymous and does not contain your real name.
If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, statistics collection is suppressed. When you withdraw consent through our cookie settings, the statistics cookie is deleted and further collection stops.
Individual statistics data is deleted after 36 months. For long-term trend comparisons, we retain only anonymised, aggregated monthly values for up to ten years. These contain no visitor identifiers or visit histories.
7. Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have the rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16 GDPR), erasure (Article 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR) and data portability (Article 20 GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Right to object: Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation under Article 21 GDPR. We will no longer process the data unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.

8. Right to lodge a complaint
Under Article 77 GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the place of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. 9. Provision of data and automated decisions
To simply visit the website, you do not need to provide personal information beyond the technically necessary connection data. To handle an enquiry or job application, we need the information necessary for that purpose; without it, we may be unable to handle the matter. This website does not involve automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
